Since its introduction in the 80s, images taken using the 8 dome port have graced all major underwater magazines at one point or another. To this day it is still a favourite among professional photographers who demand quality and reliability. A real work horse, the port is a general purpose dome port made of optical grade acrylic and is well suited for large rectilinear wide angle and fisheye lenses. The 8 radius means it can easily be used for over/under photos and will produce a smooth and thin water line. Made of optical grade acrylic, this material which has a density factor very similar to water means that minor external scratches on the dome surface are unlikely to show up in the final image, and should they ever appears, it is more than likely the surface can be repaired on site with an acrylic refurbishing kit. One of the reasons the acrylic domes are favoured by many professional photographers is that the easy to polish material provides years of loyal services and easy field maintenance even in the remotest of places.
